She’s known for looking stunning when she steps out onto the red carpet and Cate Blanchett’s latest foray into the limelight certainly lived up to expectations. The actress attended an LA screening of her latest film Truth on Monday (October 5th), looking just as gorgeous as ever.
The actress showed up in a look that was taken straight off the Proenza Schouler spring 2016 catwalk, which featured a big trend for the autumn/winter season: texture.
Dressed from head to toe in white, creating an ethereal style that looked liked she had just stepped off the set of The Hobbit, Cate’s dress was created from a mesh fabric that was layered to create a flowing asymmetric skirt.
Wearing block-white underneath rather than opting for the sheer look shown on the runway, the shade perfectly suited the 46-year-old’s pale complexion and golden blonde hair.
As well as the textured and interesting fabric, the dress also had other detailing that kept it modern, including cut out shoulders. These worked perfectly with the high neckline and long sleeves, helping to stop the ensemble from looking too conservative.
Cate’s waist was cinched in by a simple black tie belt, which helped to break up the all-white look and showcase her slim figure. She paired this with a pair of black pointed-toe shoes, which also featured tie details, resulting in a modern monochrome look.
Keeping the rest of her look simple to allow the texture of her dress to shine, the Oscar-winning actress opted for subtle makeup with just a hint of highlighter. She also swept her hair up into a stylish chignon that showed off her beautiful diamond earrings.
These had a winged look, which swept up to cover the entirety of Cate’s ear lobes while still looking delicate. The stud earrings glittered perfectly in the lights on the red carpet and complemented the white tone of her ensemble, creating a totally on-trend look for AW15.
