We've been waiting for weeks for news of the latest royal baby and now the new princess is finally here! We at TJC want to say a huge congratulations to Kate and William on the birth of their daughter.
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Saturday (May 2nd) at 8.34am in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London, weighing 8lbs and 3oz.
While the name of the new princess wasn't announced at first, it has now been confirmed that she is called Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
Each of the names seems to have close connections to the proud parents, with Charlotte being Kate's sister's – Pippa Middleton – middle name, as well as the first name of William's cousin.
Elizabeth obviously is after the Princess' grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and in a nice tribute to William's mum, Princess Diana, they also included her name in the mix.
Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge is now fourth in line to the throne, behind her grandad, father and big brother George.
Although Kate wasn't in hospital for long following the birth, she was there long enough for new big brother Prince George to come and meet his sister. William popped out to pick up his son, who arrived dressed to impress for the occasion.
While he looked a bit nervous at the size of the crowd waiting outside the hospital, opting to be carried in by his doting dad rather than walk on his own, George still gave everyone a wave and a small smile before going to see his mum and sister.
Princess Charlotte was taken home by her parents – who beamed at the waiting crowds as they left the hospital – on Saturday night.
The next day her family flocked to see her, with her grandma Carole and auntie Pippa being the first to arrive. Charles and Camilla followed shortly after, looking incredibly happy at the prospect of meeting the new arrival.
She may only have been born a few days ago, but it looks as though Princess Charlotte already has a busy schedule!
Congratulations again to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as Prince George!
