The temperatures may have dropped in the UK, but it seems to be sunny and warm in LA still, or at least that's how it seemed at the GQ Men of the Year Awards on Thursday (December 4th). A huge number of celebs attended the event at the Chateau Marmont, but one star that caught our eyes purely for her choice of outfit was Karen Gillan.
The Scottish actress wore a dress that would be at home in the height of summer, making us more than a little bit jealous at the fact we are stuck in chilly Britain.
Wearing an open-back skater dress, Karen showed off her slim figure perfectly. With a touch of 90's inspiration, the dress featured spaghetti straps and a high, square neckline.
In typical skater style, the dress cinched the former Doctor Who companion in at the waist before flaring out. This helped to accentuate her natural curves, with the flowing skirt providing a great balance, resulting in an hourglass figure.
The skirt also allowed the just-turned-27-year-old to display her perfect end as it ended mid thigh. If the backless design wasn't enough to make us jealous of the LA weather, this short design definitely got us thinking about jetting off to warmer climes!
To further step up the 90's vibe, Karen chose a pair of chunky wedged brogues, shunning the usual delicate heels worn on the red carpet. These, which were worn with black socks, added a slightly masculine edge to the look, contrasting perfectly with the pale pink dress.
The finishing touches to the look were the actress' pastel pink nails, smoky eyes, rosy lips and slightly mussed hair, which worked to create a fully cohesive look.
Adding a touch of bling to her outfit, Karen chose to move away from the 90s-inspired style with her jewellery, which was perfectly delicate and modern. She worn a really subtle gold statement necklace that had a complicated layered chain design, which really shone out against the soft colour of her dress.
Working perfectly with her dress' neckline and looking gorgeous against her fair skin, the necklace ensured her ensemble was a high fashion nod to the past decade, securing her place as being one to watch when it comes to fashion.
What did you think of her red carpet look?
