Europe’s biggest street festival is almost upon us. Notting Hill Carnival kicks off this weekend. On Sunday 24th and Monday 25th, the streets of Notting Hill will be transformed into a sea of colour and vibrancy as performers, floats and street food takes centre stage.
This annual vivid spectacle is a glorious representation of London’s dynamic multi-cultural past and present. Since 1964 the capital’s Afro-Caribbean communities have used the carnival as a medium of expression and celebration of their culture and traditions.
Steel bands, calypso music and tasty jerk chicken, plus much much more, highlight and amplify London’s beloved spirit of diversity.
Notting Hill Carnival is an enormous party, and we’re all invited! So if you’re heading down to west London this weekend to watch the streets come alive, be sure to keep in tune with the dress code. It’s simple really – anything bright, bold and colourful.
We’ve put together our perfect Carnival picks, to make sure you look as dazzling as possible!
