The Station Necklace – a stylish and classy addition to your jewellery box. Colourful gemstones, luscious pearls or gold and silver elements dotted with “stations” around the neck. A simple minimal concept but with maximum effect.
The station necklace has been around since the 70’s when Elsa Peretti designed “Diamonds by the Yard” for Tiffany & Co. In 1996 a fabulous variation of the station necklace appeared in the movie Tin Cup as pearls staggered on a silk cord. And ta-da, the station necklace made its big comeback – absolute proof of how media and celebrities have such a big influence on style and trends.
The “new classic” was featured everywhere, TV, print and the big screen and soon become the must-have design. Designer were using the basic design and mixing it up, with not only pearls, but using gemstones and metals to create new variations on an already very successful theme.
Almost two decades later and were still seeing these fabulous stylish designs being snapped by stylish women everywhere – And to think it all started from a movie about golf!
