January is a time for looking back at the previous year to see how you can make the next 12 months even better. However, it is also a time of looking forward to see what exciting things are set to happen.
While 2014 saw some great things happen, it definitely looks like the best is yet to come. There are some amazing things due to hit the high street and cinema, not to mention some great events to look forward to.
Here are TJC's top things to look out for in 2015.
Back to the Future II becomes reality
It will no doubt make some people feel a bit old to realise that 2015 is the year that the film Back to the Future II was set in. The 80's cult classic painted a picture of a futuristic world in which people moved around on hover boards and there were more than a few questionable fashion choices.
While the real 2015 is very different, there is one item of fashion that was inspired by the movie due to be released later this year.
Nike have announced that they have created Marty McFly's self-lacing, light up shoes from the movie, with Tinker Hatfield – the designer who created the shoes for the film – saying they will be brought out later this year.
While there's no set release date for these awesome shoes, we can't wait to see them hit the shops. Although they're likely to come with a hefty price tag, they look amazing.
Perhaps the easiest trend to pull of ever, this year you'll be able to walk out the door completely fresh faced and be perfectly on-trend. Whether you don't usually wear makeup or fancy a few lazy days, no or minimal makeup is set to be all the rage with loads of designers experimenting with the look at a lot of the most recent catwalk shows.
Dior and Chanel chose minimal amounts of makeup, Oscar de la Renta opted for fake freckles and Marc Jacobs went for simply moisturised skin.
This is definitely one trend we can get on board with, especially on early mornings!
Fans of the superhero movie genre – or simply fans of actors Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth in rather fitted outfits – have got a great year ahead of them as Marvel is set to release three new films.
Kicking things off on May 1st is Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is then followed by Ant-Man on July 17th and Fantastic Four on August 7th. It looks like we'll be spending a lot of time at the cinema over the next 12 months!
A royal addition
Those that love to keep up with the latest celeb news are likely to be looking forward to another member of our favourite royal family. Little Prince George is set to get a sibling later this year following the 2014 announcement the Kate Middleton is expecting baby number two.
Kate and William – everyone's favourite royal couple – have certainly become a worldwide obsession so expect to see as much madness around the birth of their second child as there was at the time of George's arrival.
Winter is coming
Another thing many people are likely to be excited about (myself included) has to be the start of the new series of Game of Thrones.
The last series followed on from the rest with a bit of a cliffhanger and a lot of unanswered questions, leaving fans asking what, why and when. There's no doubt then that the Game of Thrones madness will return full force as we get closer and closer to the season four air date on Sky Atlantic, which is set for April 15th.
Now if only George R. R. Martin would give us a definite release date for the next book to look forward to.
