Ah, The Fashion Industry, a tough nut to crack! Its one of the hardest industries to get into, even just a foot in the door, especially if you are new on the scene with little experience. This is where “Fashion Finest” steps in. Fashion Finest has a few fingers in the proverbial “fashion pie”, namely the Fashion Finest Magazine; The Fashion Finest Directory and The Fashion Finest Events. Together these various services help to give up and coming fashion entrepreneurs an opportunity in the fashion industry.
The Fashions Finest shows are well known around the world in identifying new and upcoming designers and exhibiting their talent to press, buyers and fashionistas from around the world.
Fashions Finest founder Deborah St. Louis kick-started the fashion show last weekend at The Westbury, in Mayfair, London.
The Jewellery Channel managed to get in on the action at this years Finest Fashion event where models showcased some of our latest designs as they sashayed down the runway.
Behind the Scenes with Yi!
Meet Yi, The Jewellery Channel’s fashion merchandiser.
With over 6 years’ in the fashion industry Yi has developed a sharp eye for spotting key fashion trends.
Yi merchandised the jewellery for the Fashions Finest show this weekend, pulling together the key accessories to compliment the diverse collections on show. We grabbed Yi for a quick chat to discuss her thoughts and ideas from the show.
How did you find the show, any key trends?
We’ve already seen stripes and floral pattern based designs flash down the runway and they are definitely going to grow in popularity over the coming season. Splashes of Jade mint and alert orange will dictate the new trends.
Like-wise to bring out the best from the look created by the designers we matched with our lovely jewellery based on colour clash gemstones and the Victorian-inspired cameo jewellery.
Can you define the collection you showcased in one word?
What aspects of the Fashions Finest show did you particularly enjoy?
I loved being backstage at the show and interact with the young and upcoming designers…all of them were so passionate about their creations.
