Festive nail art for the party season

With just three┬ámore sleeps until Christmas Day, you’ve probably already picked out what to wear, but that’s not to say it’s too late to add a few finishing touches. Whether you’ll be getting into the festive spirit by wearing a Santa hat or pair of reindeer antlers, why not go all out by painting your nails in some Christmassy designs?

This is a great way to get creative and put your artistic skills to the test. Even if you’re not a budding artist, festive nail art is all part of the fun.

Here are a few of our favourite designs and how to create them:

Santa hats

Of course, when we think of Santa Claus, we think of his traditional red hat complete with a white pom-pom.

Painting one or two of your nails in a Santa hat design will certainly give you the most festive talons in town. All you need is a bright red and a white nail polish. You could even use a glittery polish to add a touch of sparkle to your look.

Simply paint your whole nail in red, wait for it to dry and then add your hat design using the white nail polish, to the tip of your nail bed.

If you’re going to paint Santa hats, it’s only right to create a reindeer nail design. The most popular red-nosed reindeer that we’ve grown to love is of course Rudolph. So taking a brown and red nail polish, paint your nail bed in brown and once dry, add a red circle in the centre to recreate the nose.

You could even use white and black nail polishes to draw on a pair of eyes.

As the festive song goes, ‘let it snow’, so paint one or two of your nails in a cute snowman design.

Of course, you will need white nail polish, as well as orange and black. Paint your whole nail in white, wait for it to dry, then draw a carrot-shaped nose in orange. Finally, add three small dots in black polish to represent buttons.

Once you’ve finished, your nails will certainly steal the show for most festive this Christmas!
