Last week, TJC had the pleasure of attending London Fashion Weekend!
On Friday afternoon a few of the TJC girls – Rachel Hatton, Yi Shi and I – headed down to th Saatchi gallery in Chelsea to indulge in all things fashion. Plastered all over our social feeds, Fashion Week across the world seemed to have gone off with a bang, and we were excited to see what London Fashion Weekend had to offer.
Our day was jam-packed with fun talks, catwalk shows and of course a cheeky bit of shopping! But, one of the most memorable events was the Trend Catwalk show by reputable online shopping neighbourhood – Avenue 32.
With our butts firmly planted in the FROW, we waited for the show to begin, and boy-oh-boy did we enjoy.
So let us fill you in on three particular trends that are predicted to be a hit come SS17…
Very Velvet. Keep warm and stylish in beautiful velvet pieces! Strutting down the catwalk came models dressed in flouncy knee length skater dresses and floor length gowns with an edgy victorian twist; see puffed shoulders and underlaid lace! We are loving this trend that can even be coveted for AW16. Immediately we agreed that such a classic style can be paired with equally luxurious gemstones, so pair with diamonds galore and deep coloured gems like Ruby and Kanchanaburi Blue Sapphire.
Look Ravishing in Lace. Lace has always been in and out of the trnds during Fashion Week season, and this time it’s back, but like never before. We saw lace with funky, stand out patterns and mixed with materials to create a modern ethereal look along with pieces that would work for office hours. We think delicate pretty pieces of fine jewellery will work well with this trend. Think coloured diamonds, set in thin bands.
Winter Florals. Florals, we’ve heard of, but winter florals…! Think traditional florals with a revamp using darker colours and hints of berry hues. This trend can be worked many ways, so don’t be limited to strictly prints, think outside the box and consider fancy floral embellishments. Just like this trend, Pearls have had a major revamp, so shop our on-trend designer inspired pearls to work with this key trend for SS17.
